Who Are We?
Hello!
I’m Jess and one of my earliest memories as a child is standing in the kitchen with my Mum and sister licking out the mixing bowl after a baking session. This passion for baking (and sometimes helping clean out the bowl!) has continued through my life.
As a mother of two and doctor, baking has always provided me with my creative outlet and way of relaxing. After many years of being asked to bake cakes and treats for my colleagues and friends, I decided to launch the Whimsical Baker to start selling my creations more widely.
The Whimsical Baker came into being in 2018 and has slowly evolved through several forms to become what it is today…a supplier of delicious and beautiful cakes and treats with a elegant modern twist.
The Whimsical Baker is a fully registered business, baking from a council-approved and licensed commercial kitchen
As The Whimsical Baker I love nothing more than producing delicious and beautiful baked creations for my customers inspired by their vision or even better, when they say to me “surprise me“! Here in the Hinterland, we are fortunate to have a plethora of beautiful local, seasonal produce and native bush foods which often inspire me to get creative.
Over the last year I’ve also worked to develop and adapt many of my recipes to provide gluten free, vegan, and sugar-free options. However, as we are not a gluten free/dairy free/nut free/vegan kitchen we cannot guarantee no cross-contamination and consumption is at a client’s own risk.
