QUOTES: are valid for 14 days and prices are subject to change without notice. All prices are in the Australian Dollar.

DEPOSIT: 50% of your total cake order balance is due to secure your order and date. Your initial deposit reserves your event date and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Orders made within two (2) weeks of your event require full payment to secure the booking.

FINAL PAYMENT: The remaining balance of your cake order is due two (2) weeks before your event date. Please refer to your invoice The Whimsical Baker has sent you for your final balance. Items from your order will not be released until full payment has been received.

NON-PAYMENT, POSTPONEMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS: Notifications of postponements or cancellations must be made 7 days prior to the delivery date. In some cases, it may be possible for us to offer a partial credit for a future purchase to use within twelve (12) months, on a mutually agreed date. The amount of credit will depend on how much work has already been done on your order and excludes the 50% non-refundable deposit. If you need to cancel/postpone your event with more than one week notice, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options. If your balance is not paid two (2) weeks before your event date your order will be cancelled. Please note, the deposit is non-refundable. In the very rare event of The Whimsical Baker needing to cancel your booking (such as ill health/family emergency), we will refund any monies taken in full and attempt to organise another local cake decorator to provide a replacement.

COVID-19: A Covid-19 lockdown is a risk and responsibility that you take on when booking your order. We ask that you consider this in the context of our postponement/cancellation policy when booking your order with The Whimsical Baker. A Covid-19 lockdown does not entitle you to a refund or override our booking terms and conditions which you agree to when paying the deposit.

CAKE ORDER AND DESIGN CHANGES: The date of your final balance is the final date for any changes in size, style, flavours, flowers etc. Any changes requested after acceptance of the original quote may result in additional charges or render the quote invalid. Any changes made after date of final payment (two weeks before the event) cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS/ALLERGIES: All dietary requirements must be disclosed upon ordering. The Whimsical Baker takes no responsibility for any medical conditions as a result of consumption of The Whimsical Baker products. Whilst we offer dietary/allergy friendly options, we are not a gluten/dairy/nut/egg etc free kitchen. All precautions are taken, however cross contamination can occur; we therefore cannot guarantee that any item is 100% allergen free and these products are ordered/consumed at your own risk.

COLLECTION AND DELIVERY: Cutting, structure and storage details will be provided. For collection, once your order has been picked up all responsibility is transferred to the customer. We make every effort to ensure our products are structurally safe for travel and we are not liability for any loss or damage caused after collection. We cannot be held responsible if your venue does not have appropriate refrigeration or air conditioning to keep your cake/desserts cool and stable but will work to organise delivery as late as possible.

FLOWERS AND TOPPERS: Flowers supplied by The Whimsical Baker are subject to availability. If your chosen flowers are not available, then we will endeavour to match them as closely as possible to those requested. We cannot be held responsible if the specific flowers are not available to us on the day.

The Whimsical Baker accepts no responsibility for items, including fresh flowers, that are placed on our products by a third party after delivery/collection. When placed on/in products by parties without appropriate food and safety certifications, there is the potential to reduce the serving count or even render the baked products inedible. Should this occur, this cake will no longer be covered by the insurance policy held by The Whimsical Baker and the client accepts all responsibility for the cake.

PHOTOGRAPHY: The Whimsical Baker retains the right to photograph and share on social media and our website both finished and progress images/videos of your order. We will never share images of your product prior to commencement of the event (we don’t want to ruin the surprise!).
