Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS! We understand that planning a wedding can seem daunting however, by choosing a Whimsical Baker wedding cake we will make at least this part of it fun, tasty and enjoyable.
Your wedding cake will be a key part of your wedding celebration and you deserve for it to look, and arguably more importantly, taste amazing. We love working with bridal couples to design a cake that will complement your style and tastes both in flavour and appearance. At the Whimsical Baker we pride ourselves on delivering delicious cakes, made from scratch using the best ingredients to ensure that the inside tastes as good as the outside looks. Below are some of our most popular flavour combinations but we’re open to trying new things if you want something different. It is an urban myth that wedding cakes are expensive. This will probably be the largest cake order you ever make. Considering it will be designed specifically for you to match your desires and tastes, baked and decorated from scratch in a licensed kitchen, transported and set up at your venue at a specific time, the price of approximately $8-$15 per head is actually relatively low. Having said that, if you are working to a specific budget for this part of your wedding please let us know so we can help guide your choices accordingly.
Where do I start with ordering a wedding cake?
Step 1: Click the link below to complete the enquiry form where we ask some initial questions to enable us to begin your wedding cake journey.
We normally respond within 48 hours so please check your junk mail if you haven’t heard from us.
Step 2: We will check our availability for your wedding date and get back to you either with an initial quote or a price guide and a request for further information to help develop the best quote for you.
If you are uncertain regarding flavour and style but want to ensure you can have a Whimsical Baker cake for your wedding then we recommend paying a “save the date” deposit to ensure a booking space for your special day.
At this stage we can arrange a cake tasting and consultation to help you decide on the perfect flavour combinations for your cake. Cake tastings cost $65, giving you 4 cake flavour combinations of your choice, and a sugar biscuit or some french macarons to make a truly decadent treat box. If you then proceed with ordering a Whimsical Baker wedding cake valued at over $275 (excl transport costs) you will receive a $20 discount from that order.
Step 3: Once the quote has been finalised and you are happy with all the details it contains we will require a 50% deposit to secure your booking and a contract to be signed. We will also request details regarding venue contacts and florist details from you so we can coordinate delivery and set up of your cake on the big day.
Once this is done your order is locked into our diary! You have up until 2 weeks prior to your big day to make changes to your cake.
Step 4: Relax and enjoy….and don’t forget to eat cake!
